Franziskaner Weissbier – Germany (Hefeweizen)
The Franziskaner Weissbier pours with a dark straw color that is highlighted with brownish orange and amber tones. The large fluffy classic Weiss head slowly fades to thin layer and laces on the way down. The citrus scent has piney undertones. And the beer itself tastes like drinking a loaf of honey oat bread.

Spaten Oktoberfest
– Germany (Marzen/Oktoberfest)
The Spaten Oktoberfest is a classic of the Oktoberfest style, it pours a transparent brown with orangey red hints. The white head dissipates quickly leaving nice lace. It has the smell of a good lager, but with the slightest amount of crystal malts to add color and a bit of sweetness. Sweet and refreshing taste, it is not too plain nor too bold. There is a fine balance in this beer.

Hofbrau Original – Germany (Munich Helles Lager)
The Hofbrau Original is a brilliant bright yellow gold, with a delicately bubbled, but boisterous head of pure white foam. There is a light grain scent with a delicate noble hop bite on the nose. This beer is clean and crisp, with a light carbonic bite mid way through the palate. It has a crisp and the refreshing character.

Hoegaarden – Belgium (Witbier)
Under the sun, the Hoegaarden is crystal clear with a big, but soft, off-white head. But in the pub one can focus on smell of fresh bread, citrus, and malted wheat that dominates the aroma. On the way down you notice slight hints of citrus and orange, its bitterness is perfectly balanced with its sweetness, leaving this beer “The Original Belgian White Beer” at the top of its class.

Hacker-Pschorr Hefeweisen – Germany (Hefeweisen)
The Hacker-Pschorr Hefeweisen is pours as a cloudy golden orange with a magnificent creamy, fat white head that laces well. This classic Hefeweizen has a light clove and crisp wheat aroma. Crisp and refreshing from the beginning with a lemony hop snap and gentle tingle on the palate. It begins to smooth out with a slightly buttery caramel flavor, followed by clove spice and a hint of a grain dry finish.

Stella Artois – Belgium (Euro Pale Lager)
The appearance of this beer is unbeatable. The Golden straw color sits with a beautiful foam crown on top. As you drink sudsy lace clings to the sides. It is clean smelling with milled grain husk aromas and slight malty sweetness. Its light malt flavor has tones of spice and biscuit, which develop into a slightly hop bite in the finish.

Blue Moon - Golden, CO (Witbier)
The Blue Moon is called by many, the best Coors product yet. Its stunning amber color looks like gold sitting in your hand, the frothy bubbled head amounts to a good quarter finger. The nose senses a backdrop of citrus that becomes more prominent, and hint of spice that is refreshed with a splash of fresh orange. The sweet taste of this beer is accented with coriander flavors, and touches of grassy grains and cracker like maltiness.

Beck’s - Germany (Pilsner)
The Beck’s straw color body has a small white head that subsides to a finger. You can catch the subtle hops in the background of the beer and good maltiness in the background. This beer is noticeably sweet and had the feel of bready malt. Its taste hit you early and hard, the strong kick of the Beck’s always leaves you satisfied.

Radeberger – Germany (Pilsner)
The Radeberger is corn yellow, the impressive head is more than most of its style, and a good amount of lace holds to the glass. It smells of grassy corn with floras hints and the aroma of baked bread. This delicate brew is citrusy throughout. It begins fruity, becoming earthy in the middle and finishes pleasantly bitter.

Guinness – Ireland (Stout)
Guinness runs in the blood of every Irishmen. The not too thick, black color with light cream head cascades from the tiny bubbles. Dry cereal grain mixes with slight chocolate and sweet maltiness. Fruity sourness, to it, and the usual black roast character.

Staropramen - Czech Republic (Pilsner)
Poured with a nice, thick white head sitting atop an amber-gold brew. Head dissipated more slowly than my previous experience with lagers. The sweet aroma of malt and hops erupts from the first crack of the bottle top. Sweet. Picking up lots of honey and fruit sweetness with the malted barley coming through as well.

Murky, gold color with a wheat beer haze and a rosy pink cast. Light, sweet raspberries. The subtle raspberry flavor is not sweet, it’s still a crisp wheat beer, very refreshing.

Aventinus – Germany (Weizenbock)
Dark golden caramel brown. Just about a half inch of foaminess that quickly dissipated. Smells of banana, vanilla, bubblegum, wheat, nutmeg. Robust chocolaty malt flavors and faint touch of hops but not too much. Wheat presence is there too of course.

Smuttynose IPA
– Portsmouth, NH (IPA)
Pours a hazy, cloudy rust-orange with a large pillowy head. Plenty of sticky lacing left behind as the brew goes down. Aromas of grapefruit, grass and a little pine jumping out of the glass. The body is medium and the carbonation light and pleasant Hoppy bite upfront quickly balanced by a touch of caramel maltiness.

Boddington’s Pub Ale – England (Ale)
A crisp looking, dark-brown cream-ale that has a 2-finger head that lasts. Smell of extreme bitterness readies your palate for the upcoming brew. When I take in the frothy, whipped head and the beer it mixes into a pleasant blend of sweetness with a bit of bitter flavorings to clean up the palate.

Tennent’s Scottish Ale

A nice reddish gold, with an excellently topped head. The head remains throughout most of the drink. Very light hop aroma with some dried dark fruit. A caramel tasting brew that does not depart significantly from a traditional lager.

Some nutmeg and clove with a pleasant fruit finish in the nose. Citrus flavors upfront with some orange peel and a touch of lemon followed by a peppery finish.

Heineken – Holland
Pours a golden brownish-yellow with a 2-finger head that lasted a bit longer than most other lagers. The aromas are much that same as the bottled product. Spicy hoppiness.
