Zeppelin Hall Beer Garden Awaits Bike Crowd With Hindenburgers
August 6, 2009
I recently got wind of a new beer garden that opened in Jersey City called Zeppelin Hall. That’s about 20 miles from the Manhattan apartment where I share space with my bike, a Specialized Tricross. (more…)
Jersey Dirt: Road Rage at Sonic and a Massive Beer Garden in Jersey City
July 16, 2009
Here’s evidence to support Foster Kamer’s theory that restaurants like Minetta Tavern are the new nightclubs: According to WCBS, the new Sonic in Hasbrouck Heights, New Jersey, is so popular that the line is causing safety concerns, especially after an unlicensed driver angry at being turned away sped off and dragged a police officer with him. Momofuku Noodle Bar might want to take note of the Blue Coconut Slush rage before they introduce those new slushy machines. Meanwhile another newcomer is drawing large crowds in the Jerz: Former Danceteria owner John Argento has opened Zeppelin Hall, a 800-seat beer garden located four blocks from the Grove Street PATH station in Jersey City. Though it claims to have 144 beers on draught, a Yelp review shows they’re only at about 36 right now. Still respectable. And while the sausage selection isn’t quite on par with DBGB, they do have andouille, lamb, and a house bratwurst as well as some schnitzels and other Bavarian dishes.
Zeppelin Hall Restaurant & Biergarten, Jersey City
July 12, 2009
I’ll admit that I don’t remember much about my first trip to Zeppelin Hall Beer Garden, 88 Liberty View Drive, Jersey City, NJ, but I do remember the important things: the beer and food. The beer was excellent, the food good. (more…)
Zeppelin Hall Beer Garden, Jersey City, NJ – Andouille and Franziskaner
July 5, 2009
We went to the opening of Zeppelin Hall Beer Garden last Friday and it was packed with people. I think I ran into everybody I knew in JC. The owners weren’t properly prepared for the Jersey City onslaught because they were severely understaffed. It took 20 minutes to get a beer and an hour to get food which was kind of upsetting because if I wanted to wait on lines I’d just go to Club Baby Seals with a dress code in Chelsea. Someone was going around asking people how they found out about the place, I guess there’s just something about massive outdoor drinking, grilled meat products, and Jersey City that fires up the Internets. In retaliation, a friend of mine christened the huge white wall in the men’s room with a “I WAS FIRST” graffiti. (more…)
Jersey City’s Zeppelin Hall Opens its Taps and its Doors
June 29, 2009
From The Jersey City Independent, Huffington Post
On Friday at 4 pm, the eagerly-awaited Zeppelin Hall, located in Jersey City’s Liberty Harbor development, opened to the public. After a few hours, commuters began to fill the interior pub area and the outdoor beer garden. Despite the typical opening day problems like occasional long lines for food and beer, the opening was well-received. (more…)

About Zeppelin Hall
“It’s big, it’s German and it’s coming to Jersey City.
Welcome to Zeppelin Hall, an authentic European style Biergarten, which is a huge restaurant with both indoor and outdoor spaces where hundreds of guests gather under the trees and stars to drink beer, eat and socialize. Biergartens have been an important part of the social lives of Europeans for hundreds of years. Now coming to Jersey City, USA.
As in Europe, there no seating assignments at Zeppelin Hall… come grab a seat at one of our thirty foot long community tables… A great place to connect with your group of friends. Shy? You won’t be after sampling some of our incredible draft beers and meeting other friendly guests. Jumping into conversations is mandatory. Eat and drink. Be merry, and stay as long as you like… Zeppelin Hall is a living room for the neighborhood serving you and other like minded people.
Convivial and light hearted! Conversation is king and we recommend sensible shoes as the outdoor garden is covered in gravel. Wi-Fi enabled… but we guarantee that you will be having too much fun to be typing.
Zeppelin Hall is dedicated to count Von Zeppelin, the visionary inventor of the rigid airship, an idea that came to him as a young lieutenant serving in the Union Army balloon corps during the American civil war. Like the airships he designed, we are big…German…and coming to New Jersey.”
Zeppelin Hall: Astoria meets Danceteria, on the Hudson.

Opening this weekend is Zeppelin Hall, a new 800 seat beer garden at 88 Liberty View Drive, an address unfamiliar to Mapquest. But if you can find it, somwhere in Liberty Harbor, you’ll be rewarded with 144 beers on tap and a menu aspiring to rival DBGB, with dishes like the Euro Burger, a Munster cheeseburger topped with Keilbasa.
